Latent (Latent Innovations) · Effective: August 6, 2026 · Last updated: August 6, 2026

Latent helps professionals organize achievements, identify recognition gaps, and discover opportunities for growth. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have written it to be read, not skimmed past.

1. Who we are

Latent is operated by Latent Innovations (“Latent,” “we,” “us”). Our product serves users primarily in the United States. Some of our operations, including review of submitted materials, are currently performed from India. Contact: hello@latentinnovations.com.

2. What we collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Contact details: name and email address when you request a Latent Read, join a waitlist, or apply for a program.
  • Professional materials: your resume or CV, LinkedIn profile or URL, and any documents or descriptions of your professional history you choose to submit (for example: patents, publications, awards, memberships, employment details, compensation information you volunteer).
  • Communications: messages you send us.

Information we compile with your request:

  • To prepare your Latent Read, we may review publicly available professional information connected to materials you submitted (for example, patent registries, publication databases, or professional body listings) solely to reconstruct and verify your professional record.

Information collected automatically:

  • Basic technical data when you visit the site (IP address, browser type, pages viewed). We use this for site operation and security. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking analytics.

We do not ask for, and you should not submit, government identification numbers, financial account details, or information about health, religion, or other special categories. If such information appears in a document you submit, we do not use it.

3. How we use your information

  • To prepare and deliver your Latent Read and any services you request.
  • To review applications for our programs and respond to your inquiries.
  • To maintain your professional record within the product, including updates you request or generate.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the service.
  • To send service communications. We will only send marketing communications with your consent, and every such message includes an opt-out.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own advertising. We do not use your materials to provide services to anyone else.

4. Human review

Every free Latent Read is personally reviewed by our founder. This means a human being reads the materials you submit. Materials are handled confidentially and used only to prepare your read and deliver services you request.

5. Where your information is processed

Latent serves users in the United States, and our infrastructure providers host data in the United States (Vercel). Our team is distributed; your information may be accessed from outside the United States, including India, solely to deliver the services described above, under the same confidentiality and security standards described in this policy.

6. Legal bases and your rights

If you are a United States resident: Depending on your state (including California under the CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws in other states), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, so there is nothing to opt out of; the remaining rights are available to all users regardless of state.

For everyone, regardless of location: You may at any time —

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct it.
  • Ask us to delete it. If you ask us to delete your record, we will delete your submitted materials and derived records within 30 days, except where a legal obligation requires retention.
  • Withdraw consent to processing, which may mean we can no longer provide the service.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@latentinnovations.com. We will respond within 30 days. We will never charge a fee for a reasonable request, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

7. Retention

  • If you receive a free Latent Read and do not continue with any service, we retain your materials for 12 months so your read remains available to you, then delete them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or to keep them longer.
  • If you use an ongoing service, we retain your record for the duration of the service and for 12 months afterward, unless you request earlier deletion.
  • Waitlist and inquiry contact details are retained until you ask to be removed.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of professional records, including access limited to those who need it to deliver the service, encrypted transmission, and reputable hosting infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to operate Latent (for example, website hosting and email delivery). They process information only on our instructions and for the purposes above. Current categories: hosting and deployment (Vercel), email delivery. We do not use data brokers.

10. What we are not

Latent does not provide legal advice, does not file immigration petitions, and does not guarantee outcomes. Information you share with Latent is not protected by attorney–client privilege. Pathway decisions should be reviewed with a qualified attorney.

11. Children

Latent is a professional service intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or a notice on the site before the change takes effect.
